coming from Nagios; not sure of Hyperic's config import behavior?

Hi all. I just got into Hyperic yesterday, so please bear with me if I am missing obvious things.

I have a Nagios configuration that uses check_by_ssh, but not NRPE or NSCA, which are the only things not supported, according to http://support.hyperic.com/confluence/display/DOC/Nagios+Data

However, for whatever reason, each time I remove the Nagios server and rediscover it with the Hyperic agent, it never seems to pick up the complete set of services I have defined in my config. Specifically, it can detect all of the default check services that operate on the localhost, but it can't find any of the services that operate check_by_ssh.

My best guesses are that I'm not defining the hosts or services in such a way that the Hyperic agent can accept them as complete definitions. So my question is, what exactly does Hyperic do when it parses the Nagios configuration?

Attached is the config file in question. It's anonymized, but in its actual form, it works as I expect in Nagios. What happens in Hyperic is that the service that's headed by the comment ### check_node_service is not parsed out by the agent when it discovers Nagios.

(I believe I could manually add this service, but that greatly greatly reduces my motivation for using Hyperic)

Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks
