Hyperic agent seems to restart itself

Hi

We have been having some problems with a number of "false alarm" alerts being generated by our Hyperic server.

When I look at the agent log on the machine at the time the false alarm was generated, it shows:

..

..

2012-03-21 03:45:00,278 WARN  [pool-3-thread-1] [ScheduleThread] Disabling metrics for: 3:11198
2012-03-21 03:51:00,000 INFO  [ScheduleThread] [ScheduleThread] Re-enabling metrics for: 3:11198

2012-03-21 04:08:05,685 INFO  [Thread-0] [AgentCommandsServer] Agent commands loaded

..

..

The alert was generated at 04:08.  It looks like the alert was generated because at the time the agent was polled it was not running, as it seemed to be restarting.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what can cause the agent to seemingly restart at random and how can I prevent this in future?  I have been searching various forums but can't seem to find anything similar.

For reference the agent is running on a Ubuntu server

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions

Steve
