Howdy,
I have 4 hosts that I have configured identically through a provisioning program and just installed the hyperic agent on these hosts...here's the sequence of events:
- Agent starts up, receives token and registers with the server
- Auto-discovery picks up new host, along with all the plugins I've created
- Host gets added to inventory
- No metrics/data appears to be sent from the agent to the server after that, and it eventually times out and give an availability alert.
I'm able to telnet between the server and the agent host through the default ports, and I'm assuming it would not have been able to auto-discover if that was not working...I've performed a "soft" and "hard" reset, turned up debug logging, and reinstalled the agent, to no avail...I did see one log message:
2011-08-18 21:31:46,163 INFO [Thread-0] [AgentTransportLifecycleImpl] Stopping agent transport.
But I saw that same message on working hosts...anyone have any suggestions/ideas? I've attached debug logs from the agent, and a grep of the hostname from the server. Thanks!
